This 550 Spyder is one of only three original examples finished in red. It carries VIN 550-0028 and engine number P 90 012. I actually saw another original red 550 Spyder at the Mille Miglia several years ago. In total, I have now seen eight genuine 550 Spyders. Most of them were at auctions, events, or in places where photography was not allowed. What is unfortunate is that most 550 Spyders you come across today are not genuine. Even more frustratingly, many replica owners still claim that their cars are original, at least in my experience.
